Wto Sport – Wakil Ketua Asosiasi Game Indonesia (AGI) Adam Ardisasmita mengatakan Indonesia membutuhkan 3.000 sumber daya manusia per tahun guna mengembangkan industri game lokal.
“Tidak hanya kuantitasnya saja yang diperhatikan, tapi, kualitasnya pun perlu didorong,” ujar Adam ketika dihubungi Antara di Jakarta, Sabtu.
Selain mencetak sumber daya manusia yang baru, Adam menilai perlu ada upskilling (menambah keterampilan) SDM yang sudah ada. AGI menilai saat ini Indonesia kekurangan talenta industri game pada level senior.
Kemampuan-kemampuan yang dibutuhkan untuk mengembangkan industri game lokal mencakup tiga bidang, yaitu desain, seni, dan pemrograman. Dalam desain, diperlukan kemampuan antara lain desain narasi, desain cerita, dan desain level.
“Dari sisi seni mencakup 2D, 3D, animasi, efek visual, seniman teknis, audio, dan lain-lain,” Adam menjelaskan.
Sedangkan dalam bidang pemrograman, diperlukan system programming, engine programming, back end programming, dan lain-lain.Peran dan kemampuan yang dibutuhkan industri juga bergantung kepada genre serta cakupan game yang dikembangkan.
Adam juga menjabarkan sejumlah tantangan yang dihadapi dalam mengembangkan industri game, seperti minimnya keterhubungan industri game dengan dunia akademik sehingga lulusan-lulusannya tidak mudah diserap oleh industri game.
“Mahasiswa dan murid yang memiliki peminatan ke industri game pun banyak yang masih mengalami kesulitan mencari tempat magang karena masih kecilnya skala industri game di Indonesia jika dibandingkan dengan jumlah mahasiswa,” dia memaparkan.
Oleh karena itu, kata dia, mahasiswa kerap mencari jalur lain guna mengasah kemampuannya, seperti dengan mengikuti lomba atau pelatihan-pelatihan di luar materi kuliah.
Dia juga mengatakan bahwa sejumlah kementerian telah menaruh perhatian terhadap isu itu dan memberikan sejumlah program dalam rangka pengembangan, seperti Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika dengan program Digital Talent Sholarship dan Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif dengan Gameseed.
“Kerja sama dengan Kemendikbud pun sudah dimulai dan harapannya kedepannya dampaknya semakin besar lagi,” kata Adam.
Dia menilai perlu ada peran serta dari industri, pemerintah, komunitas, akademisi, dan juga media dalam pengembangan tersebut, apabila ingin memajukan talenta yang ada di Indonesia.
“Karena kita sedang berbicara ekosistem dan pencetakan talenta yang merupakan investasi jangka panjang,” Adam menambahkan.
Dengan demikian, Indonesia dapat menjadi ekosistem yang subur bagi industri game untuk tumbuh.
“Kita tahu bahwa mencetak talenta adalah investasi jangka panjang, intervensi yang dibuat hari ini mungkin baru akan terasa efeknya 5-10 tahun ke depan,” ujar Adam.
