Lintasan itu beroperasi hanya sebanyak 20 trip karena anggaran kan masih terbatas apalagi ini sudah akhir tahun. Dan Labuan-Sawaeya itu adalah lintasan subsidi,” kata Jamaluddin.

Tapi ke depan itu kalau menurut saya masyarakat Wawonii di sana yang mau ke Pulau Buton terutama ke Buton Utara bisa lebih menghemat waktu dan biaya,” ujarnya.Apabila perjalanan ke Pulau Buton lewat Langara menuju Kendari selama tiga jam lalu melanjutkan Kendari ke Amolengo sekitar 1,5 jam dan menyeberang ke Labuan sekitar 30 menit, maka diperkirakan sudah menghabiskan waktu selama lima jam.”Sementara dari Labuan ke Sawaeya hanya ditempuh 3 jam. Jadi, di samping biaya tinggi juga memakan waktu lebih lama, karena kan memutar,” jelasnya.Ia menyebutkan bahwa pembukaan lintasan baru tersebut sebagai upaya menjalankan misi pemerintah untuk membuka daerah-daerah terisolasi, karena itu diberikan anggaran dengan dilakukan kontrak untuk melayani masyarakat di lintasan Labuan-Sawaeya tersebut meski masih terbatas tripnya.
Dia menjelaskan bahwa lintasan Sawaeya menuju Labuan yang jaraknya sekitar 19 mil atau ditempuh dalam 3 jam dilayani KMP Semumu dengan jadwal setiap Senin sore pulang pergi (PP), kemudian armada itu melayani juga di trayek Labuan-Amolengo (Butur-Konsel).”Pulau Wawonii ini diharapkan menjadi magnet bagi masyarakat di daratan, termasuk destinasi wisata yang ada di daerah itu sudah bisa dengan gampang apabila ingin menuju ke sana sehingga akan bertambah mobilitas masyarakat yang menuju ke Pulau Wawonii (Konkep).”Fasilitas ini diharapkan juga digunakan supaya di saat pemerintah mengevaluasi, itu bisa menambah trip, tetapi kalau dari evaluasi ke depan dan sepertinya kurang dibutuhkan maka bisa saja pemerintah menilai mungkin belum dibutuhkan,” katanya.
