Wto Sport – Komite Konvensi Warisan Budaya Takbenda (WBTB) UNESCO menetapkan Budaya Sehat Jamu Indonesia sebagai Warisan Budaya Takbenda UNESCO.
Menurut keterangan tertulis KBRI Pretoria di Jakarta, Rabu, Duta Besar Luar Biasa Berkuasa Penuh (LBBP) RI untuk Republik Afrika Selatan merangkap Republik Botswana, Kerajaan Eswatini dan Kerajaan Lesotho, Saud Purwanto Krisnawan mengatakan penetapan Budaya Sehat Jamu sebagai WBTB adalah hal yang positif dalam rangka terus mempromosikan budaya Indonesia.
Lebih lanjut Dubes menyatakan bahwa KBRI Pretoria dalam rangka peringatan 30 tahun kerja sama diplomatik Indonesia-Afrika Selatan akan mempromosikan jamu melalui berbagai aktivitas seperti pameran, lokakarya dan kegiatan lainnya.
Sementara itu, melalui pesan video Menteri Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Nadiem Anwar Makarim mengaku bangga dengan penetapan Budaya Sehat Jamu sebagai WBTB UNESCO.
“Sejak dulu hingga kini budaya jamu terus dipelajari, dikembangkan dan diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Jamu telah menjadi bagian cara hidup di Indonesia,” katanya.
Nadiem juga menyampaikan bahwa Indonesia akan terus melestarikan Jamu melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan secara formal dan non formal serta melalui penelitian, pengembangan dan juga inovasi jamu.
Wakil Delegasi Tetap RI untuk UNESCO Ismunandar menambahkan bahwa proses penetapan Budaya Sehat Jamu sebagai WBTB UNESCO merupakan upaya bersama yang didorong komunitas lokal yang difasilitasi oleh Pemerintah.
“Keterlibatan masyarakat ini dinilai sangat positif oleh UNESCO, bahkan disebut dapat menjadi contoh bagi negara lain,” katanya.
Ismunandar berharap agar inskripsi Jamu sebagai WBTB UNESCO dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan kecintaan masyarakat Indonesia terhadap Jamu dan WBTB secara umum.
Budaya Sehat Jamu meliputi ketrampilan tradisional dan nilai-nilai budaya yang terkait dengan obat-obatan alami tradisional yang terbuat dari tumbuh-tumbuhan an dan rempah-rempah serta metode pengobatan tradisional untuk meningkatkan kesehatan.
Budaya Jamu dipercaya telah berlangsung sejak abad ke-8 Masehi, terbukti dari relief di Candi Borobudur dan manuskrip kuno seperti Kakawin Ramayana dan Serat Centini, menurut pernyataan.
Budaya Sehat Jamu menjadi WBTB Indonesia ke tiga belas yang berhasil diinskripsi ke dalam daftar WBTB UNESCO. Sebelumnya Indonesia telah menginskripsi 12 elemen budaya lainnya sebagai WBTB UNESCO yakni Wayang (2008), Keris (2008), Batik (2009), Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Batik (2009), Angklung (2010), Tari Saman (2011), Noken (2012), Tiga Genre Tari Tradisional di Bali (2015), Seni Pembuatan Kapal Pinisi (2017), Tradisi Pencak Silat (2019), Pantun (2020) dan Gamelan (2021).
UNESCO mencatat nilai budaya jamu sebagai salah satu sarana ekspresi budaya sekaligus membangun koneksi antara manusia dengan semesta.
UNESCO juga mengakui bahwa Budaya Sehat Jamu mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan, antara lain Tujuan nomor 3 tentang Kesehatan dan Kesejahteraan, nomor 5 tentang Kesetaraan Gender, nomor 12 tentang Produksi dan Konsumsi yang Bertanggungjawab serta nomor 16 tentang Kehidupan di Darat.
Sidang ke-18 Komite WBTB UNESCO di Kasane, Botswana masih berlangsung hingga 9 Desember.
