Wto Sport – Seniman Butet Kertaredjasa menjelaskan intimidasi yang dialaminya saat menggelar pentas teater di Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta beberapa waktu lalu.
“Dua hari yang lalu saya mencicipi suatu peristiwa, karena banyak yang tanya kronologi apa yang terjadi dalam intimidasi pertunjukan kesenian saya, di Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta tanggal 1 dan 2 November lalu,” kata Butet di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, Rabu.
Butet mengaku pihak kepolisian melarang dirinya menampilkan materi tentang politik dalam acaranya yang berarti materi seni pertunjukannya diatur oleh kekuasaan di luar dirinya.
“Saya kehilangan kemerdekaan mengartikulasikan pikiran, saya dihambat kebebasan berekspresi, padahal UUD, seperti dikatakan dirjen kebudayaan, amanah kongres kebudayaan jelas menyebutkan kebebasan berekspresi hak mendasar, hak mutlak rakyat Indonesia, polisi mengartikan intimidasi secara naif, hanya soal fisik,” katanya.
Butet menjelaskan izin dari kepolisian itu harusnya hanya untuk kesenian yang berpotensi mengganggu ketertiban umum.
Tetapi jika kesenian ditampilkan di tempat seni, taman budaya, komunitas seni, Taman Ismail Marzuki, padepokan yang memang tempat seni cukup pemberitahuan saja karena tidak ada gangguan ketertiban umum.
“Tugas polisi adalah mengantisipasi ancaman ketertiban umum, tapi dalam pertunjukan kami. Seminggu sebelumnya saya harus menandatangani surat yang salah satu itemnya berbunyi ‘Saya harus mematuhi, tidak bicara politik, acara saya tidak boleh untuk kampanye, tidak boleh ada tanda gambar, tidak boleh urusan pemilu’,” ujarnya.
Meskipun ia menampilkan cerita biasa, baru kali ini sejak tahun 1998 polisi menambahkan redaksional akan aturan tidak boleh membicarakan politik yang harus ditandatanganinya.
“Itu menurut saya intimidasi. Intimidasi tidak harus pertemuan langsung, tidak harus ada pernyataan verbal dari polisi, polisi datang marah-marah, bukan itu,” kata dia.
Butet mengaku hanya menceritakan fakta dan tidak berani menuduh kalau polisi alat negara di masa kampanye ini mulai mengintervensi kehidupan publik.
“Cuman menceritakan fakta, saya yakin masyarakat Indonesia ini, masyarakat yang cerdas, bisa menilai dengan sendirinya. Kalau saya kolasi, kontennya kurang lebih seperti itu, lebih itu karena banyak mahasiswa, saya yakini kalau mahasiswa yang hadir di acara kita ini adalah pemilik masa depan bangsa dan negara,” ujarnya.
