Wto Sport – Komando daerah militer (Kodam) XVI Pattimura menyiapkan sebanyak 5.000 personel untuk membantu mengamankan jalannya Pemilihan umum (Pemilu) serentak tahun 2024 di Maluku dan Maluku Utara.
“Mengingat luas wilayah kerja Kodam XVI/Pattimura yang melingkupi dua Provinsi, yaitu Maluku dan Maluku Utara (Malut) dalam pengamanan Pemilu disiapkan kurang lebih 5000 personel,” ucap Kasdam XVI/Pattimura Brigjen TNI Agung Pambudi dalam keterangan yang diterima di Ambon, Sabtu.
Sebanyak 5.000 personel tersebut merupakan hasil penambahan sebanyak 3.400 personel setelah sebelumnya diumumkan hanya 1.600 personel.
Hal ini dalam rangka membantu pemerintah untuk menjamin pelaksanaan Pemilu secara langsung, umum, bebas, rahasia, jujur, dan adil, aman, dan tertib sebagaimana diatur dalam pasal 2 UU nomor 7 Tahun 2017 (UU Pemilu).
Pasalnya menurut Kasdam, kerawanan yang masih sering terjadi yaitu pertikaian antarkampung, yang disebabkan oleh tingginya konsumsi minuman keras di lingkungan warga.
“Terkait dengan beberapa titik daerah yang masih dianggap rawan konflik, Kodam menempatkan pos pengamanan yang mana, hal ini juga merupakan permintaan dari masyarakat setempat,” kata dia.
Kasdam melanjutkan Pemilu 2024 merupakan agenda nasional yang perlu pengawalan dan pengamanan secara bersama-sama antara TNI dan Polri untuk menghindari dan mengantisipasi hal-hal tidak diinginkan yang dapat mengganggu keamanan dan ketertiban di tengah masyarakat.
Oleh sebab itu menurut Kasdam, kerjasama antara TNI dan Polri mewujudkan situasi yang kondusif sangat penting untuk menghadapi tahun politik menuju Pemilu 2024.
“Kami tetap menjaga kekompakan untuk saling bekerjasama dengan personel Polri dalam menyelesaikan setiap persoalan di tengah masyarakat terutama pada tahun politik saat ini,” katanya.
Ia berharap Pemilu bisa dijadikan momen pesta rakyat yang aman dan damai serta mengajak semua pihak untuk menjaga etika dalam berpolitik.
