Wto Sport – PT PGAS Telekomunikasi Nusantara (PGNCOM) dan Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jaringan Internet Indonesia (APJII) menandatangani Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) tentang Sumatera Internet Exchange (Sumatera IX).
Dirut PGNCOM Larassetyo Wibowo dalam keterangannya di Jakarta, Jumat, mengatakan PKS Sumatera IX menjadi langkah strategi yang akan membawa dampak positif bagi perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi khususnya di wilayah Sumatera.
APJII merupakan institusi pengelola nomor protokol internet untuk wilayah Indonesia yang telah memiliki izin penyelenggaraan yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah dan perusahaan pengguna nomor protokol internet.
Menurut Larassetyo, PKS terkait dengan kerja sama penyediaan POP di wilayah-wilayah yang meliputi Medan, Riau, Batam, Jambi, Palembang, Lampung, dan Cilegon dengan kapasitas koneksi yang cukup besar antarwilayah tersebut, serta penempatan perangkat server dan colocation.
“Konsep baru di mana load traffic terlalu padat melewati Pulau Jawa, yang dengan kerja sama ini harapannya wilayah Sumatera IX akan menjadi tempat terhubungnya berbagai penyedia jasa-jasa internet yang berada di area Sumatera. Melalui Sumatera IX, konten-konten dapat terhubung tanpa perlu lagi melakukan perputaran di-hub selain Sumatera (contoh Jakarta-Cyber),” ujarnya saat penandatanganan di Jakarta, Kamis (30/11/2023).
Ketua Umum APJII Muhammad Arif menyampaikan program APJII “Menjahit Sumatera” memiliki visi untuk menghubungkan anggota APJII di area Sumatera.
“PGNCOMmenjadi provider yang pertama kali bekerja sama dengan APJII dalam hal menghubungkan seluruh POP APJII Sumatera,” katanya.
Menurut dia, APJII berkomitmen menghubungkan anggota di Sumatera melalui PGNCOM untuk menjual produk-produk ke jaringan APJII seperti IPTR, DEPL Sumatera, dan DEPL Sumatera-Jakarta untuk peningkatan revenue ke depannya dan benefit lainnya.
Penandatanganan PKS antara PGNCOM dengan APJII, lanjutnya, dapat memperkuat eksistensi dan esensi kedua belah pihak sebagai ekosistem inovasi di segmen ICT Indonesia.
